Cenotes or Sinkholes

Ancient Mayans viewed cenotes as a sacred place to worship the cycle life. Today, cenotes are seen as places of adventure, where tourists can be in close contact with nature in a much different way than anywhere else in the world. There are over 6,000 active cenotes in Riviera Maya, offering a mind and body experience you will not want to miss.

Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve

This UNESCO heritage site boasts incredible beaches, tropical forests, coral reefs and cenotes and is home to more than 300 species of birds. Either kayaking across the mangroves or discovering the many ancient Mayan archaeological sites, Sian Ka’an will leave a footprint on your travel log.

Tulum

Tulum is one of the last cities inhabited by the ancient Mayans and managed to survive about 70 years after the Spanish began occupying Mexico. Set on the edge of a cliff with magnificent views to the Caribbean, Tulum today is one of the best preserved coastal Mayan sites and is a favored tourist destination.
